Your AD5 online tests are approaching: Your essential pre-test checklist
AD5 candidates: Last few days to complete your TAO tech check!
The clock is ticking! If you are an AD5 candidate taking the online tests, now is the time to make sure you are ready to test on the TAO platform. Don’t leave your technical check until the last minute.
Step 1: Access your Single Candidate Portal
If you haven’t logged in to your Single Candidate Portal using your EU Login account yet, do it now!
You should have received an email from EC ServiceNow with a link to access the portal.
Can’t find the email? No worries! You can also access your account directly via the EPSO website.
In the email, you will find your invitation to the online tests, including:
- Instructions for online testing on TAO. Make sure you read them carefully so you understand the testing procedures and requirements before test day.
- A link to access the test environment, where you can complete your technical check and find out your exact testing date and time.
Step 2: Complete your tech check before the deadline
Deadline: 6 November at 23:59.
Make sure you complete your technical check before the deadline. Don’t wait until the final hours: sorting out any technical issues in advance will help you avoid unnecessary stress.
The tech check is also a valuable opportunity to familiarise yourself with the TAO platform, explore its interface and tools, and get comfortable with the testing environment before the actual exam.

Step 3: Add your test date and time to your calendar
Once you know your assigned testing slot, put the date and time in your calendar.
Set up reminders so you don’t forget, and make sure you know when you need to be ready to start. Being organised now will help you avoid a last-minute rush on test day.
Step 4: Prepare your testing space in advance
Don’t leave your exam-day preparations until the last minute.
At least one day before your test, make sure your testing space is ready. Review the instructions carefully so you know exactly what is allowed and what is forbidden during the online tests.
Check that your environment meets the requirements and that you have everything you need to take the test without interruptions.

Step 5: Revise smart, not endlessly
With the test approaching, it can be tempting to spend hours doing mock tests right up to the last minute. But more practice isn’t always better when you’re already close to exam day.
Instead, aim for regular, focused preparation sessions in the days leading up to your test. Avoid intensive mock tests immediately before the exam, and give yourself time to relax and recharge.
